Black Mountain Off-Road Adventure Area

With 150 miles of trails weaving through 7,000 acres of wilderness, it’s no wonder this is a go-to site for outdoor adventurers seeking off-road trails in Kentucky. The ATV riding trails and UTV riding trails were adapted from old strip mining and logging roads, and offer a wide variety of terrains while covering elevations from 1,200 up to 3,300 feet. Riders with every level of experience, beginning, intermediate and extreme, can find ATV and UTV trails perfect for their skillset in this mountainous region.

 

Blue Holler Off-Road Park

Near Kentucky’s Mammoth Cave National Park, this area offers over 35 miles of marked trails weaving through 1,000 acres of Kentucky wilderness. Including ATV trails and UTV trails that actually go through Mammoth Caves, this area offers ATV riders a unique experience. The diverse terrain provides everything 4-wheeler riders could want including a few large jumps, water crossings, rocks, waterfalls, berms, and mud, plenty of mud.

Dirty Turtle Off-Road Park

Location: 93 Bucks Run Rd Bedford, KY

Here you’ll find a total of around 25 miles of a wide variety of 4-wheeler trails, and mudding trails, spreading out over the 286-acre park. Smaller than some ATV parks, this nevertheless has ATV trails offer that a good mix of mostly easy to some extreme expertise ATV trails, with gravel, mud bogs, limestone rocks, ledges, steep hills and multiple stream crossings.

Hollerwood Park

Location: 2096 State Hwy 1036, Stanton, KY

Located near Kentucky’s famed Red River Gorge, this area offers 2,500 acres of wilderness for your ATV trail riding adventures. With everything from mud pits to rock climbs to some steep hills and small jumps, trails weave through rugged forest. You’re guaranteed to experience some of the most memorable scenic viewings ever, while also facing ATV riding challenges with mostly hardpack trails mixed with some sand and loose dirt. Open since 2018 and construction continues, rated for mostly beginners with a few expert-level trails.

Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area

Location: 238 Visitor Center Drive, Golden Pond, KY

When it comes to riding your ATV, Kentucky has a premier spot in Land Between the Lakes, with over 500 miles of ATV trails winding through 170,000 acres of forests, wetlands, and open lands on a peninsula between Kentucky and Barkley lakes in Western Kentucky and Tennessee, that includes over 300 miles of shoreline. Each trail is marked for difficulty. Riders will have an opportunity to see over 240 species of birds in the area, along with a host of other wildlife. Within the complex, Turkey Bay OHV Trails offers about 100 miles of diverse trails, ranging from level meadows and sandy beachside paths to rolling hills and rocky terrain, plus a “turkey trot” trail is ideal for those 16 and under to practice their riding skills.

Mine Made Paradise Adventure Park

Location: 750 Sutton Memorial Drive, Leburn, KY

Here you’ll find 43,000 wilderness acres with around 200 miles of ATV and UTV riding trails, each one marked and rated (green are for easy, blue for intermediate, and black for expert), and looped. The trails go through the forest and across a variety of terrain, offering hills, beautiful sidehill trails and ridges, and numerous creek crossings. The fields, hills, and valleys of the area will soon be reforested to remove all evidence of strip mining.

Redbird Crest Trails

Location: KY-66, Manchester, KY

Part of the Daniel Boone National Forest, this area provides riders with over 100 miles of motorized trails, including a 34-mile loop trail, winding through forest and other varying terrains. Most of the trails are narrow and rugged with many sections following mountain ridgetops, offering hardpack, loose dirt, and mud, when the weather cooperates, with a few water crossings and berms. Most of the trails are rated as favorable for beginners, with a few rated for expert ATV riders.

Rush Off-Road

Location: 100 Four Mile Road, Rush, KY

Here you’ll find over 100 miles of trails spread out over 7,000 acres of Kentucky wilderness, a paradise for 4-wheeler riding. Wide, smooth trails are available for beginners, while more technical trails with steep, chunky climbs and descents are available for more experienced off-roaders. Count on some mud, loose dirt, rocks, and a few berms to go along with the steep hills. New trails are being opened regularly.

Wildcat Adventures Off-Road Park

Location: 7800 US Hwy 25 North, East Bernstadt, KY

Off-roaders will find these Kentucky UTV trails and ATV trails to their liking with over 100 miles of trails spread throughout 2,000 acres of forested land. Trails are marked and rated and form nice long loops. They’re mostly loose dirt with some hardpack and mud over some steep hills and a ton of berms with a few small jumps. Rated mostly for easy/beginners with some suitable for higher skill level riders.
