Ouachita National Forest

Oklahoma’s portion of the Ouachita National Forest has over 363,000 acres (of the 1.8 million acre total) of wilderness with small pine groves to thick dense forest areas.

Dozens of ATV and UTV riding trails weave through the landscape that includes whoops, hard pack, and and a wide variety of terrain. Two of the most popular ATV trails in the area are the historic 40-mile Kiamichi Trail (known as the K-trail, formerly 80 miles before 40 miles were privatized) renowned for mud bogs and rock crawling strenuous enough to hold your attention, and the 23-mile Old Military Road trail built in 1832.
